Sunday Stealing

Today we ripped this meme off a blogger Lady Nina of the blog
Live the Good Life, Fight the Good Fight. She gives us no idea who she stole it from. But, it was probably stolen at that blog as well. So, of course, that will be as far as we go. Tracing back our theft's thieves might take some time. Link back to us at Sunday Stealing!

Cheers to all us thieves!

Sunday Stealing: The 40 Meme

1. My uncle once: was confused for Elvis Presley. Mind you, this was back in the 60s when my uncle was in the service, but honestly I don't even think Elvis was in the service at this time, but women went nutty when they saw him. My aunt was understandibly annoyed.

2. Never in my life: will I understand why panhandlers always choose me. Seriously, they need to stop. I am so jaded now it isn't even funny. Still I am the one they approach.

3. When I was seventeen: I was THE most innocent girl I knew.

4. High School was: not like living in a John Hughes movie. Well...we did have our creepy James Spader guy, but other than that...not so much. ;)

5. I will never forget: the first time I heard my son's heartbeat. Priceless.

6. I once met: Hugh Jackman.

7. There’s this girl I know: who did everything she could for love and always got hurt. It was really painful to watch. She was so sweet and kind, but she just could not read men.

8. Once, at a bar: I was walking up the stairs and a guy grabbed my bum from behind. I turned around and pushed him and he slid down the stairs on his bum. Hey, I was 21 and freaked out.

9. By noon: I’m usually messing around on Twitter looking for news.

10. Last night: I fell asleep while watching In Bruges. It was great, but I was exhausted. I watched the rest tonight.

11. If only I had: a winning lottery ticket in my possession.

12. Next time I go to gym: I may actually stick around.

13. Susan Boyle is: pretty damn amazing.

14. What worries me most is: that the people I love worry about EVERYTHING.

15. When I turn my head left: I see three pillows. I know right...totally incredible!

16. When I turn my head right: I see my purple stainless steel water bottle.

17. You know I’m lying when: you develop psychic powers, my friend. There is no way you will ever know I am lying if I don't want you to know. I am good. I am really good. It is kind of sad how good I am at it. Hey...I worked as a cocktail waitress and a bartender for years. I had to know how to lie.

18. What I miss most about the eighties is: EVERYTHING! Music was pretty much fun even though a lot of it didn't make a hell of a lot of sense. Everyone was a lot happier and things like Band Aid, Live Aid, and Farm Aid happened, because people wanted to do something good for others. Now it seems the new method for getting people to do something good is GUILT and finger pointing. BLECH. I also liked celebrities a lot more back then, because I didn't know every tiny piece of useless minutia about their lives! How long must I suffer along with Jennifer Anniston? SERIOUSLY.

19. If I was a character in Shakespeare: I’d have a real tough time understanding myself.

20. By this time next year: I will be asleep in bed and not blogging because I want to get this in ASAP.

21. A better name for me would be: Riki Tiki Tavi. Just rolls off your tongue doesn't it. :)

22. I have a hard time understanding: algebra and the need for it even now. This really sucks for my son. I have two CLIFF notes for math and algebra though. :)

23. If I ever go back to school: I’ll study what I WANT rather than allow myself to take something to please someone else.

24. You know I like you if: I make up a nickname for you.

25. If I ever won an award the first person I’d thank would be: my son quickly followed by my husband and the rest of my family. My son is an amazing little kid, and he has made me who I am more than anyone else. :)

26. When I compare 80’s rock to 90’s rock: I am not sure what to compare. A lot of people think of 90s rock as grunge and that started in the mid 80s, punk was popular all the way through 80s and 90s, then there is Ska, but again that started in the 50s got popular again in the 80s and the 90s. Aerosmith was popular in both decades as was Metallica. I think there is too much of a mesh in all of it, and now I am getting a headache. :)

27. Take my advice: never eat an not-quite-ripe peach while sitting on the top deck of a ferry the day after a hurricane, and while you are at it...stay away from the rails when you are on a ferry. You never know who might blow chunks.

28. My ideal breakfast is: eggs and potatoes O'brien. YUM!

29. A song I love, but do not own is: impossible for me to say. My husband has a ridiculous collection of music and he has burned everything I have ever asked for. My favorite song is Instant Karma if you are interested, and I own it on vinyl, mp3, and CD.

30. If you visit my hometown: I suggest taking a horseback ride. There are no sidewalks so the locals can ride their horses anywhere they want. It was pretty cool when I was a kid.

31. My favorite Beatle is: Paul McCartney.

32. Why won’t people learn: how to drive in the snow in places where snow is a frequent weather occurance?

33. If you spend the night at my house: I am likely to spoil you rotten. I like to do anything for my guests. Hopefully you like beer, coffee, and lots of food.

34. I’d stop my wedding for: nothing other than a family emergency. My husband is a doll and I would have married him earlier if I had known him earlier. :)

35. The world could do without: finger pointers.

36. I’d rather lick the belly of a cockroach than: watch another Altell commercial. They play those things to death!

37. My favorite blonde is Brad Pitt.

38: Paper clips are more useful than staples because they work EVERY time and staples can be very hit or miss.

39. If I do anything well, it’s showing my husband how much I love him. I know it sounds sappy, but it is a simple fact.

40. And by the way who is up for a food fight?

Hi there. I'm your newest follower via Stealing Sunday! I'd love to have you follow me as well.

You asked on #40 who was up for a food fight? Frankly, I am! Haven't had one for a very long time and the fact that I'm hungry makes me wish for one even more. I'll bring the pudding!

Happy Stealing!

Food fights are so much fun....I call the mashed potatoes and gravy!!! Your uncle,.........Elvis? Whoa. I like that you make up nicknames for your friends.

My stolen meme is posted. Do stop by if you get a chance. I'd love to have you for company today. Happy Sunday.

You had so many good answers that it's hard for me to zero in on just one but I do agree with you that the 80's were just better overall!! I love the way you love your son!!

Good for you pushing the guy down the steps! Wonder if he ever did it again.

You are full of contradictions today! Your favorite song is from John. But you prefer Paul. I agree that I need to know no more of Jennifer Anniston's angst. Then you mention Pitt. What a riot! Have a great day!

My grandma always used to tell me about Rikki Tikki Tavi when I was little. That's the first time I've heard anyone else mention it!

Good answers. Liked your logic for why paper clips are better than staples, and, yeah, a food fight sounds fun.

no.23 - you said it perfectly for me! i finished a degree which was my parents' choice, not mine. and i dislike it very much. until now i'm still looking for a way to break away from this profession i am stuck in. when i finally get to that point, i swear i will throw a party - which is something i've never done in my life.

You nailed the reason that the 80's were pretty darn good. And I'm always up for a food fight!

#17, hey that's the reason I'm uch a good liar, too. I worked at front-office for years and if you don't learn how to lie to people there, you never will. Have a good day!
