Sunday Stealing - The Green Meme

Today we ripped this meme off a blogger and blog named Greenish Lady. She states that Becca invited everyone to do it. But, it was probably stolen at that blog as well. So, of course, that will be as far as we go. Tracing back our theft's thieves might take some time. Link back to us at Sunday Stealing!

Cheers to all us thieves!

Sunday Stealing: The Green Meme

1. What is your current obsession?

Wow. It has been such a long time since I have had an obsession. At one time it was collecting comic books, and this was because I was dating a comic book geek who dragged me to many a Comicon. You can only go to so many without finally giving in to the hype. The fact is...you roam around and around and if you are not into comics...you go mad. So I became obsessed with comics like Witchblade, Tomb Raider, BVS, Angel, Fable, Knights of the Dinner Table, Batman, Bat Girl, and some Crossgen stuff that I think is all gone now. I ended my tenure of that relationship with I think about 8 cases of comic books, maybe more. I moved cross country to get away from the comic geek and sold most of what I had. I still have my BVS comics and some old Quantum Leap comics, but you just cannot make a 3000 mile dash with the cargo I had accumulated. So basically, I gave up having an obsession with anything material. Life will have to go on with me just obsessing over Lost and Survivor. Okay...House too. :)

2. What’s a good coffee place?

Dunkin Donuts. I spent many a night (or early AM) running in there after a long night of club hopping and all that goes with it for a Croissant and a yummy cup of java! Cheaper than Starbucks and open all night! Nothing better than that! Sadly they don't have one here where I live now.

3. Who was the last person that you hugged?

My husband Scott about five minutes ago. I was on my way into the kitchen for some wasabi peas. Had to stop for a little hugntickle. :)

4. Do you nap a lot?

I nap as much as I can. Which is actually not much. When I worked in a casino, I worked the graveyard shift and I napped on every break except lunch. We had two 15s and the non smoking breakroom had a bunch of couches in it. If you timed it right, you could lay down on one and snooze until your break was over. I can still sleep and wake up in 15 minutes on my own with no problems.

5. Tonight, what’s for dinner?

I am baking up some chicken, whipping up an amazing batch of mashed potatoes and gravy and figuring out some sort of veg. Any thoughts?

6. What was the last thing that you bought?

I was hoping for a VS shopping trip, but I have a horrid respiratory nightmare going on. I had to settle for Advil Cold & Sinus. SUCKS.

7. What is your favorite weather?

Sunny and warm. Definitely shorts and tank top weather!

8. Tell us something about one blogger who you think will play this week?

All bloggers should play this week. I have no clue who will play, but I hope Bud does because he makes me smile. :)

9. If you were given a free house that was full furnished, where in the world would you like it to be?
Monterey, California would be just fine with me. Hell, I don't even need the furniture. ;)

10. Name three things that you could not live without.

Three things...not people right? I don't want to offend anyone. Okay...thing one: My shower. Trust me THIS is a necessity. Thing two: My French coffee press. Thing three: I cannot think of one more item that is absolutely a necessity. Well, I guess my cell phone, because we got rid of the home phone. I almost said toilet, but as anyone who has been on a road trip with no rest areas in site can tell you, YOU can learn how to make do in a pinch. :)

11. What would you like in your hands right now?

A winning lottery ticket wouldn't suck. And not a fiver please.

12. What’s one of your guilty pleasures?

Cadbury mini eggs. I am very glad they are only around during Easter season or I would be quite a bit fuller figured than I'd like.

13. What would you change or eliminate about yourself?

I am really rather happy with who I am and what I am about, but if I had to I would actually change a thyroid condition that I am suffering with right now. It is sooooo not cool.

14. As a child, what type of career did you want?

I wanted to be a stewardess, but my grandpa worked for the airline and told me that pilots were pigs and stewardesses often were "loosey goosey." Even at age 7, I understood that was probably not a great thing. I really just wanted to travel, and I have been able to do that so I am cool with my NOT being a stewardess. Not that being a cocktail server and bartender back in the day was ideal either, but the money was good. :)

15. What are you missing right now?

My family in California. I get to see my dad and step mom soon, so I am pretty stoked about that.

16. What are you currently reading?

One Deadly Sin by Annie Solomon. I'll be doing a review here soon and hosting a giveaway. :)

17. What do you fear the most?

Spiders and noisy bugs. I don't care how harmless a beetle is, that noise those flying ones make drive me nuts! And don't get me going on horse flies!

18. What’s the best movie that you’ve seen recently?

I have been rather disappointed in the movies I have seen lately. I would have to say Rails and Ties was very good. I saw that on cable though. Made me cry like a fool. I am definitely looking forward to X Men Origins Wolverine.

19. What’s your favorite book from the past year?

Cross Country by James Patterson. He is amazing!

20. Is there a comfort food from your childhood that you still enjoy?

Martinis. No actually it is hot toddies though. I probably misspelled that, but now that I am sick it is all I can think about. I loved those as a kid. My mom made them for me when I was ill, and they always did the trick. :)

I'm pretty certain every girl has thought of being a stewardess at one point. But I'm also quite sure that it sucks being one. Travellin isn't so much fun if you have to work at the same time. Happy Easter!

I hear you, Rikki. :) I remember wanting to be that cruise director on the Love Boat when I was a kid too, and now that I think about it, I am sure I would have hated it. How often can you deal with Charo? :)

I'd like that winner ticket as well. Maybe 56 mil? That might do it. Thanks for the kind words. Happy Easter...

I'm obsessed with Lost, Survivor and House, too.

I gave you an award :)

Old school comic books... killer!

I wanted to live on a cruise ship too!

Current obsession after reading this post: find a comic geek and date him.

Your last one on number 10... ummm... I experienced that about two weeks ago... when EVERY gas station in a town is closed.

Yeah, Rikki, I don't know where I got the idea that it was a glamorous career. I think there were a lot of commercials with stewardesses when I was a kid. I clearly remember seeing stewardesses saying "Fly Me" but I have no idea where they were talking about. :) Kind of suggestive now that I think of it. :)

i'm babe, aren't Cadbury min eggs the most amazing confection ever. Well, for the price anyway? :)

Bud, I think I would even settle for an even six million. :) I need a little to spread around. :)

Thanks for the award Yvonne. :) And I have to say I am thoroughly jealous. I wish I could drive up to a Dunkin Donuts before work. It is now about an hour and a half out of my way. I know if I set up a franchise here in Prescott, I'd be filthy rich. :)

Hey Harriet. :) Really more just the olives in the martinis. ;) My grandma let me taste a martini once when I was a child, and I remember thinking it tasted like perfume. I like them now though I still have the largest love for the olives. :)

NurseExec, you have the coolest icon. :) I am thinking I really need to start playing the lottery more. A women in the neighboring town just won 5 million and bought it at the grocery store that I usually purchase them at. I was a little miffed.

kalea_kane said...

Joe, you have no idea how much I miss those comics. :)

kalea_kane said...

Fishingaround...I know one comic geek that is available. :) I'll tell you one thing...those Comicons are insane! Want to meet a lot of guys and feel like one of THE hottest chicks in the place...get thee to a comic book show or a comicon. :)

Great answers. You're right about comic books accumulating, I'm either going to have throw some of mine out soon or risk drowning in them. Hope you get one of those winning lottery tickets one day.
