Thank you to Valerie from Hachette Book Group for the opportunity to join in on this May giveaway. Yes...I am starting now, but this is a long runner my dearies. What we have on deck is Testimony by Anita Shreve. Got to love the plot of this one! Check it out!
From the Publisher's Website:
At a New England boarding school, a sex scandal is about to break. Even more shocking than the sexual acts themselves is the fact that they were caught on videotape. A Pandora's box of revelations, the tape triggers a chorus of voices--those of the men, women, teenagers, and parents involved in the scandal--that details the ways in which lives can be derailed or destroyed in one foolish moment.
Writing with a pace and intensity surpassing even her own greatest work, Anita Shreve delivers in TESTIMONY a gripping emotional drama with the impact of a thriller. No one more compellingly explores the dark impulses that sway the lives of seeming innocents, the needs and fears that drive ordinary men and women into intolerable dilemmas, and the ways in which our best intentions can lead to our worst transgressions.
What do you think so far? Looks good doesn't it? If you need a little more check this out!
Don't you just love open book? I love a little extra sneak peek, but honestly, I didn't need one to know I wanted to review and host a giveaway for this book! And let's face it, Anita Shreve pretty much rocks hard! :)
Here is some Author information again from the publisher's website:
Anita Shreve is the critically acclaimed author of fourteen novels, including Body Surfing, The Pilot's Wife, which was a selection of Oprah's Book Club, and The Weight of Water, which was a finalist for England's Orange Prize. She lives in Massachusetts.
So what do you think? Want to win?

What I miss about highschool is all the cash and lack of responsibility. Having had a part-time job all the way through, I always had money. Since I wasn't an adult and my parents were of the thought that I was working to have my own spending money, I had no bills to pay. Now, I make so much more than I ever did back then but I never seem to have money for that new sweater or pair of jeans. That's what I miss - cold, hard cash...

Hearing the author was very cool. Thanks for that.
I miss band. I was good and band members liked me. Those of us that were good screwed around a lot during practice and kinda got away with it because the director knew we would be there when it came time to perform.
hmmm.. I never was in high school (homeschooled!) so there really isn't anything to miss.

What I miss about high school is that I miss being with my friends everyday. I hardly ever see them anymore, and I wish we all maintained better contact.

Oh, those carefree days with summer vacation! What I miss from high school are friends, first loves, the excitement in the classrooms as Christmas approached, the excitement as summer vacation was on the horizon, and the excitement when September came, and we were thrilled to go back to high school.

I would love to win this book.
I do not have a blog, and I've only recently found blogs like Breaking the Spine, Book Club Girl, and Everyday I Write the Book Blog.
I've been an avid reader since before high school but it really revved up in high school-I almost always had my nose in a book and NOT a school book. One of my fave pics of me is with a Danielle Steel book, "Daddy" and ironic or not, I lost my father that same year!
forgot to leave email

I miss all the easy access to friends. I had to see my friends 5 days a week--in class, after school, in band, drama, whatever. Now everyone has such different schedules, and it's hard to plan time with friends! I definitely miss having them around all the time.
