The Most Anticipated Television Program of the Year? Really?

While watching a little football (little because I am kind of focusing on baking cookies, making chili, and catching up on emails)...I saw a preview of what was touted as The Most Anticipated Television Program of the Year. What could it be? I was pretty excited...okay, not excited...intrigued...well, mildly.

Honestly, I couldn't think of what I was anticipating other than one of my guilty pleasures...American Idol and another one...Lost. What could my friends be anticipating? Thank goodness for NBC for taking the time to set me straight...the program is Momma's Boys. Apparently a dating show where three eligible bachelors will woo some lovely ladies AFTER they go through the ringer with their mommas. Oh yeah...I know that is the kind of programming I want to watch. What woman wouldn't want to snag an eligible Momma's boy? Isn't that kind of the epitome of what most women do not want? Isn't that the kind of man that television and movies poke fun of? It kind of stinks of that horrible dating show that came out from Simon Cowell where the guys had to woo the girl IF her rude and overly obnoxious friends approved. ICK. Now...I am married, but still, I do not think I would ever subject myself to this kind of thing knowingly. I have had the uncomfortable realization of dating a momma's boy once, but to pursue one with this kind of full disclosure? Ahhhh No.

In my shock and over analyzation (not a word), I looked up some definitions of momma's boys. These are just wiki and Urban Dictionary...still.

momma's boy--A male who has a very, perhaps too, close bond with his mother, often making him soft.

momma's boy
1) A grown male still dependent on his mother.
2) A grown male who allows or desires his mother to control most aspects or decisions of his life for him.

Here is a little info on Momma's Boys from Ryan Seacrest:

Oh yes...let's all line up to be subjected to the torture of the unbearable mom. This is a glaring red flag of dating. Our goal as mom's really should be to be woman enough to release our young men to their future wives. Our goal is to raise MEN not boys. And I don't know about you ladies, but my goal in finding a lifetime partner and soul mate was also to find a man. A man with a good relationship with his mom, certainly. That is the kind of man who will know how to treat you well. A man who is controlled by his mom...um not so much.

Thankfully I got a great man and a great mom when I got married.

So...what do you think about this highly anticipated program? Will you watch?

Found your blog while clicking around.
I won't be watching the show. I can't quit a show after I start it, no matter how lame it is. It is just better if I never start... ha ha ha!

Ha! When I was writing my first comment I confessed that we watched Flavor of Love... but then I was too embarrassed so I deleted it. But Rock of Love... just as embarrassing! Two of the rock of love girls go to my hair salon... and let me tell you... they look TRASHY!

I laughed when I saw this commercial last night. I'm much more an Idol fan than this. I probably will watch the first episode just to see how mushy it will be.
