Countdown to Flirting with Forty Book and Lifetime movie

On Friday, December 5, I will be reviewing the book by Jane Porter, Flirting with Forty.
There are going to be a lot of bloggers out there reviewing the book and having some pretty cool giveaways... I highly recommend you check them out. I'll be listing the participating blogs soon. You are not going to want to miss it.

So to get in the spirit...let's start with a clip of Flirting With Forty! Again, this is going to be on Lifetime this Saturday, December 6. It is sure to be a fun movie to watch with some buds. A good time for some spa spoiling while watching a film, I'd say. So if you are so inclined check out the clip below and make note of a great facial recipe I have added below to get some glowing, flirty skin. I am also going to add some fun party tips here and there until the big day!

Party Planning:

First spa treatment recipe:
For dry skin...
Avocado and Honey Mask
This is one of the best treatments I have ever had and one of the simplest. I love avocados and make a lot of guacamole. Every now and then I do not use all that I buy, and that is when I make this mask. It doesn't get much simpler than this:

1 medium sized avocado
1/4 cup of honey

Peel and mash the avocado until nice and creamy. Don't rush through this, afterall it is going on your face. You want it creamy. When you get it in a nice creamy consistency add the tablespoon of honey and mix it in thoroughly. Put the entire treatment on your face and leave it on for 20 minutes. Rince with warm water gently.

I do not know anyone who is allergic to these ingrediants, but a patch test on your wrist for a short time is always a good idea.

A Little Tip From Those of Us Who Have Seen 40: Did you know that the older your skin is the more help it needs with exfoliating dead skin cells? It is a good idea to exfoliate at least once a week...gently...to help your skin along. You do not have to get fancy, but feel free to. You can simply keep some baking soda in the bath and put a palmful in your hand, add some warm water and rub your face gently. Trust me...I'm 41, and I have seen the difference it can make!

Party Favor Options: Do you like getting and giving party favors like I do? Well I can tell you that our heroine is quite the party planner, and although I doubt I'll equal her flair, I do have a favor that is a great lil gift for a spa party! I'll add a new option every day.

Favor 1: A loofah sponge. Ladies...one can never underestimate the power of the loofah! This lovely sponge has properties that are just wonderful in the bath or shower. I am convinced that you should take that extra time in the morning, and besides exfoliating at least once a week...you should totally try a loofah. So what a better time to start than gifting some loofahs at your spa party? My aunt introduced me to loofahs ages ago. Massaging with a loofah increases circulation and has been known to lessen cellulite. I'm not joking, ladies! Here is a photo of the sponge.

Okay, that is it for this evening. We'll tackle some more recipes tomorrow on our way to Flirting With Forty. I hope you check everything out and especially Jane Porter's book!
